“Because we all have an ex… but not all of us have one hanging on the wall.”
This portrait transforms the everyday into art with a dose of humor. The figure, depicted holding a beer bottle, is constructed with expressionist brushstrokes: loose, vibrant, and full of freshness.
The title, "My Ex," offers an ironic wink that connects with all humanity. Beyond the anecdotal, we all share the experience of relationships that are left… behind and become memories. Here, instead of drama, there's a playful perspective: memory transformed into a spontaneous pictorial gesture.
The work plays with the paradox of the intimate and the universal, the serious and the light, demonstrating how painting can capture the essence of the commonplace and, at the same time, invite a smile.
