About this artwork
In winter, the colors of nature fade. The cold covers the plants with frost and the rapidly fading light bathes the sky in gray, blue and pink bands of clouds that seem to merge with the brown branches of the treetops. The picture is painted with acrylic on canvas and covered with a matte varnish.
In this picture, an optical double interpretation has arisen by chance, which becomes apparent the further away the viewer stands from the picture. Once… you have discovered it, it is difficult to go back to the other interpretation.
So also here: Albert in winter.
Viewed from a distance, Albert's portrait becomes vaguely visible. A warm, gentle look greets the viewer.
Susanne Stahr lives in the Frankfurt area. In addition to mathematics, she studied art education with a focus on painting. Painting and drawing have been a part of her life since childhood. She discovered her talent for drawing at an early age and, at the age of 10, found herself taking portrait painting classes for adults. She has pursued her creativity professionally and continues to guide children in their creative development. She also works as a freelance artist. Her current focus is on exploring colors and color nuances, which find their form in both abstract painting and the realization of motifs from nature, animals, and plants.
