Several years ago, I developed my mixed technique specifically for five series of paintings on watercolor paper (in addition to acrylic, graphite, and watercolor pencils, this includes several other “secret” materials)). The “Salamander in Love” series consists of several paintings, each of which is a one-of-a-kind, hand-made work. The series continues my long-term “research” into a woman's secret and mystical side, her hidden skills and gifts inherited… from nature and ancestors. This is the story of a witch in love who, under cover of night, turns into a small salamander to slip into her beloved’s house
Born from a book-filled environment, Svetlana Rumak mediates her vision primarily through acrylics, supplemented with pencils, ink, and collages. She's forged an individualistic style, coalescing mixed media techniques within symbolism, a visual narrative reflecting upon womanhood and its many facets. Through her works, she unfolds a "fan of reality", instilling in viewers a profound contemplation on gender roles and spiritual mysticism.
