In this piece, I explore the cactus as a symbol of strength, stillness, and inner focus. The vertical cactus columns stand like silent sentinels — almost human in their quiet presence.
The deep teal-green background evokes a night sky or a body of water, from which these protective, stoic forms rise. The red drips in the background feel like traces of heat, memory, or emotion — something raw left behind.
I aimed to contrast precise, almost graphic… cactus shapes with fluid, expressive marks. The tension between these elements speaks of the balance between stillness and movement, containment and release, silence and eruption.
