About this artwork
Black background of my paintings symbolizes unconsciousness, night, mother, shelter, yin (the female principle in universe and society). The black in paintings also symbolizes pessimism (awareness of finitude of being in this world) and mourning; the white strokes and prints of wood symbolize the day, father, yang (the male principle in universe and society), activity, light, freedom (and its limitations) and optimism.
There are also color accents… in my paintings: red - primary life energy, green - calmness and belonging, openness to the outside, to the world, blue - internalized wisdom, gold - imaginary and mystical light (inner god).
The paintings tell us about the limitations in life and fields of freedom that should exist in coexistence; both Western and Eastern principles of philosophy, both analytical and synthetic aspects of human existence are present.
The paintings express my experience and feeling of the world and me in it, as well as human existence.
