About this artwork
The celestial origins of light give it supernatural and metaphysical status in many civilizations.
Light is the genesis – the creation of the world. The primary utterance of creation is “Let there be light,” its separation from darkness.
Across cultures, light is a symbol of God's revelation, and ultimate guidance for believers. It is an ancient symbol of understanding and intellectual thought: it is the opposite of ignorance or darkness. The dark… is almost universally considered frightening and sinister, associated with things we cannot understand. Light conquers darkness and brings order out of chaos.
Let There Be Light!
I used a horse-rider with a sandy desert and dunes under his feet, the Sun and the Milky Way above his head, as symbols of “Direction and Light”
« Any work of art should charge the viewer with positive energy: aesthetic, intellectual, and emotional. Art should enrich the viewer, "to add, not to subtract". »
Tatiana Rezvaya is an artist based in the United Kingdom whose works have been widely exhibited in Russia and Ukraine. Her preferred genre is figurative art, through which she employs multiple approaches. An experienced artist, Rezvaya believes that figurative compositions also demand extensive knowledge of portraits, landscapes, and still life; only then can a transition into fantasy images be free and not restricted by inner barriers.
