About this artwork
I created my oil painting “Juliet” (50×60 cm) partly using a spatula technique and mounted it in a simple black wooden frame.
Against a deep blue night sky, beneath a drooping wisteria and in the gentle glow of the full moon, Juliet appears—delicate, thoughtful, yet sustained by a quiet inner strength. Her gaze wanders into the distance, as if awaiting a message from Romeo.
Inspired by Shakespeare's tragic heroine, I sought to capture this moment… between hope and foreboding—the time when love still shines, but fate is already casting its shadow. The palette knife technique brings depth and movement to the surface, while cool shades of blue and white underscore the poetic, slightly melancholic atmosphere.
Tatiana Takush, born in St. Petersburg – a city with a long artistic tradition – is a trained painter and printmaker. She works primarily with oil, acrylic, and mixed media.
In her works, she tells stories of landscapes and people. She often uses fleeting snapshots as a starting point, which she reinterprets with depth, sensitivity, and passion. Her art invites the viewer on a dreamlike journey where emotions become visible – especially where words fall short.
