Berlin is enveloped in a sea of blooming Japanese cherry trees (sakura).
The Berlin Wall fell on November 9, 1989, and Germany was reunited in 1990.
To celebrate this long-awaited event, a fundraising campaign was organized in Japan, in which Japanese citizens raised around one million euros for the purchase of seedlings.
Since then, Berlin and Brandenburg have transformed into a blooming garden every spring. A more beautiful gift is hard to imagine!
