This work, one of my earliest creations, represents my first authentic encounter with art: a pure, unfiltered moment, full of passion, freedom, and deep connection. Each stroke reflects the energy and emotion flowing directly from the heart, capturing a stage of absolute authenticity.
The piece combines spontaneity, emotion, and vitality in every layer, conveying intensity, joy, and inner strength. It was my father’s favorite work, as he always… recognized the light and energy emanating from it. Today, beyond being a testament to my creative freedom, it serves as a tribute to his love, support, and inspiring gaze. Each stroke becomes a gesture of memory, gratitude, and connection to the extraordinary in our shared life.

My creative journey was born from a profound search for balance during one of the most challenging moments in our collective history: lockdown.
I believe in the transformative power of art.
"It all started when I dropped a wine bottle on a white wall during lockdown. I didn't have any paintbrushes and couldn't go out and get them, so I grabbed a shoe sponge and some acrylic to cover the stain."
Mila Hurtado primarily uses acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media on canvas, blending her experience as a yoga teacher and artist to create deeply spiritual works.
