About this artwork
Work on canvas, glued on medium wood, 9 mm
An abstract artwork on a textured blue-grey background, composed of geometric shapes and coloured lines.
The composition of the image focuses on a series of abstract shapes and lines that intersect and overlap on a blue-gray canvas. The shapes are primarily geometric, including circles, rectangles, and triangles, in various sizes and colors. Bold lines of color (blue, red, yellow, orange) cross and divide… these shapes, adding visual complexity. The artist appears to have used layering and paint application techniques to give the canvas a textured appearance. The colors, primarily dark tones and bright colors, create a harmonious contrast on the canvas, while the surface texture adds another dimension to the artwork.
Thierry Buisson, a self-taught painter from Lyon, trained in the world of Joan Miro, Wassily Kandinsky, Paul Klee and Picasso. In 2024, he was awarded a medal by the Academy of Arts, Sciences and Letters. Her technique is a rhythmic and instinctive combination of acrylic, pastel chalk and plaster. Her work falls within an expressive abstraction, inherited from cubism, where structure dialogues with emotion. Her abstract works invite the viewer to transcend words, creating a space for personal imagination. A proponent of automatism, where the artist gives free rein to their gesture without strict planning. His work is based on organic forms that suggest creatures or characters, without being realistic.
Theb develops a pictorial universe which he calls Lyromorphism.
