About this artwork
In this oil painting with a knife, I wanted to represent an elegant woman on whom a big fat cat is curled up, seeming serene. The woman seems distant and disdainful but the animal, with its purring, will be accepted, without a doubt. This work, to be discovered, with its mysteries, gives free rein to the imagination. Will this woman accept contact with this furry animal despite its elegance?
« Art is the legacy of the artist's passion, whose work is a message that reveals his soul to us. The door opens and feelings invade us… »
Born in 1963 in Paris, Thierry Landon is an award-winning painter whose paintings are exhibited in his native France. A former student of the Ecole Boulle in Paris, in Upholstery, he worked as a Decorator for around ten years and then turned to the printing sector, before devoting himself entirely to his passion, painting, in 1999. Thierry Landon's works have earned him representation in several renowned galleries in France. In his work, each theme is a pretext for color. His message, through his artistic creation, is to send the viewer back into the "osmosis of semi-synthetic colors", where superfluous detail does not exist. He prefers oils to any other medium, works with a knife and uses vibrant and flamboyant colors. For him, this expresses an inner fire mixed with passion and optimism. Thanks to his first job, he prepares his supports himself, with a rake and upholstery nails.
