Tilo Ettl is a figurative painter with a background in art history and philosophy, and a degree from the Stuttgart Academy of Fine Arts. He works in a variety of techniques—from watercolor and pastel to acrylic and oil—mostly on large-format canvases, alternating his themes in series. His works are characterized by a complex balance between flatness and sculptural quality.
