About this artwork
In this painting, I explore the raw interplay of emotion and chaos within a structured reality. Using acrylics and oil pastels, I weave abstract forms and semi-abstract figures into a tapestry of dripping and dynamic lines and shapes. The muted grays and stark black forms are pierced by bursts of vivid color, representing hope and the irrepressible human spirit. This piece speaks to the beautiful mess of human existence and offers viewers a moment… to pause and find meaning amidst disorder.
« Painting is part of my DNA, so every material that I can reuse, use, recycle is always a motivation to produce artwork. »
Tim Madeira is a painter, textile artist, and sculptor based in Portugal whose works have been widely exhibited nationally. He mostly creates in an abstract style because it allows him to be "absolutely free" in his exploration of material potentials. Primarily employing water-based paints, Madeira often welcomes "stain accidents" as guides in his artistic process. He also creates using acrylics, ink, and collage on paper or canvas.
