About this artwork
"Aluna – The Golden Thread" is inspired by a documentary film about the Kogi, an indigenous people living in isolation in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta mountains on Colombia's Caribbean coast. The Kogi call themselves the Elder Brothers. Together with us (the Younger Brothers), they want to create a future worth living.
The viewer is asked to imagine a pure golden thread connecting the images and the viewer beyond the physical world, symbolizing… the interconnectedness with everything in which the Kogi feel and act.
This idea of a deep connection with ALL that is can be extremely comforting, even if it's sometimes challenging for me. The inner dialogue with this possibility always brings me a step closer to it. Immerse yourself in this connected landscape and listen to what it has to say to you.
Tina Gattermann works with acrylic paints, chalk, epoxy resin, metals, and especially gold; her roots as a designer continue to shape her work. Her special technique, which she calls "emergent painting," is based on the multi-layered oxidation of metals and pigments, creating spherical, intuitively created, unique pieces full of depth. Her works radiate spiritual power, confidence, and hope, inviting the viewer to experience beauty and inner inspiration.
