About this artwork
I have created this work with passion, capturing the vibrant essence of an urban corner, a meeting place bathed in history and culture. Through oil painting, I have captured the play of light and shadow, evoking sensations of warmth and welcome among the textures of the city. A fusion of figuration, impressionism and realism, this painting invites contemplation and will add an atmosphere of life and nostalgia to any home.
The Taberna la Fontana… de Oro, located in the historic center of Madrid, is a historic and emblematic Madrid tavern. A former gathering place, a meeting place for artists and politicians in the 19th and 20th centuries, it is known above all for having been frequented by the writer Benito Pérez Galdós, who was a regular customer and set his first novel in this place, also called " The Golden Fountain" (published in 1870).
