About this artwork
A work from the "Stepping Stones" series. This abstract composition is dominated by a warm cream-colored texture reminiscent of vanilla. Intense red, yellow, black and blue abstract structures on this creamy background convey liveliness and dynamism, but also suggest calm. My goal is to inspire the viewer and offer them a source of energy and joy in their living space. This work of art is an invitation to experience the joy of color and form. The… work was created with acrylic paints and mainly using a spatula technique. The edges of the work are painted and it is ready to hang.
Tom Schmid is a multifaceted artist who has found the perfect medium for his artistic expression in acrylic paints. He experiments passionately with a wide variety of materials, creates textures by applying and removing multiple layers of paint and likes to create the impression of patina on his works. His abstract paintings are inspired, among other things, by his passion for photography and he uses many of his photos as a template to create abstract images, which can be understood as an intensive dialogue between the two media. Emotions of passion and suffering can be felt in each of his stories that the images want to tell and invite the viewer to share.
