About this artwork
The artwork is a depiction of the artist's impressions from a day spent in Chelsea, Manhattan. The author captured the view from the New York's High Line. The central motif is the facade of an old tenement at the corner of 17th Street and 10th Avenue in Chelsea. The piece is inspired by illegal street art on walls of New York. Tomasz Brynowski is an artist based in Poland whose paintings have been featured in solo and group exhibitions nationally. Through his art, he endeavors to show the underground artistic lives of cities. Brynowski is fascinated by the walls found in large metropolises and believes that they have lives of their own. In his multilayered compositions, he endeavors to transfer the image of a doodled wall, complete with scraps of posters or advertisements, onto canvas.
