About this artwork
Roots and wings
Acrylic and oil pastel on canvas / 100 × 140 cm
Series: Invent your Fairytale
The painting "Roots and Wings" is part of the "Invent your Fairytale" series, which, with its abstract forms, color schemes, and compositions, is reminiscent of fairytale book illustrations. The series invites you to invent your own stories—full of movement, allusions, and poetic license.
In this work, roots—suggested by floral structures—represent… anchoring and origin, while wings symbolize lightness, development, and inner strength. It explores the tension between staying and setting out. The color palette is vibrant yet harmonious, full of light, movement, and depth.
The composition can be freely interpreted and hung horizontally, vertically, or upside down. The back is signed and stamped for maximum spatial freedom. A work that inspires without preaching—like an invitation to reinvent your own fairy tale.

The German-Bolivian artist Toni Nohe studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Nuremberg and the Kraków Art Academy. She works with painting, photography, and textile art. In her abstract visual language, she combines color theory with the symbolism of Andean cultures. Her works emerge from a dynamic interplay of transparency, line, and structure. She interweaves narrative and organic elements, creating spaces that facilitate harmony, joy, and reflection. She consciously uses color as a means of promoting well-being—inspired by the findings of positive psychology. Her works have been shown internationally and are included in private and public collections in Europe, North, and South America.
