About this artwork
"Cryptica" is a visual meditation on the hidden, the unspoken, and the concealed layers of existence that lie beneath the surface of everyday perception. Drawing inspiration from the ancient traditions of East Asian calligraphy and the emotional raw power of Western gestural abstraction, this monochrome piece invites the viewer into a realm of cryptic signs and silent dialogues. Each bold, calculated yet intuitive stroke of black acrylic functions…
as an unreadable glyph, a code waiting to be deciphered not by intellect, but by feeling.
The thick, tactile impasto texture of the paint creates a stark, dynamic contrast against the raw grain of the canvas and the stillness of the negative space. The dry-brush technique and scattered splatters near the base evoke a sense of fleeting presence—as if an ancient mystery is revealing itself in this very brief moment, or perhaps dissolving back into the void.

I am Tsia Tskhovrebashvili. I chose to be an artist. I live and create in Marseille, France, raising my three children. Art is my daily breath, woven into my life alongside my other essential roles. I create every single day for those who find their sustenance and soul in art.
Poetry and painting have been inseparable parts of me since childhood. For years, I created "in the shadows," driven by a deep personal vision. Despite the challenges of emigration, art remained my constant companion. I am proud that my work has now gained international recognition and appreciation. To me, painting is a transformation of energy—a dialogue where poetry becomes color. This rebirth, shared with my children, has turned past shadows into a future of light.
