About this artwork
Fire Under Skin
This piece was created in a single impulsive night, driven by an uncontrollable inner tension.
The face emerges from darkness, marked by raw, instinctive strokes. Layers of black conceal and reveal at the same time, while flashes of yellow and red suggest a heat that lives beneath the surface.
The eyes hold a restless energy — a silent confrontation between control and emotion. Nothing here is fully resolved. The figure exists… in a state of becoming, of burning quietly from within.
“Fire Under Skin” explores the invisible pressure we carry — the emotions we suppress, and the intensity that shapes us from the inside.
From childhood, poetry dwelt within me — an inner voice, discreet but powerful. Committed to education and civic life, I deeply believed in the power of good.
And yet, drawing was always with me — silent sketches, like a breath without words.
Upon arriving in a new country, something broke. Survival became my sole priority. One day, for no reason, I bought some paint.
Since then, I've been painting. For me, painting is about transforming inner energy, giving form to emotion, memory, and life.
Each work is a response — a dialogue with the invisible, where poetry becomes color.
My rebirth came with my children—Luka, Cecilia, and Gabriel. After years of survival, the universe granted me the power to create. Today, my art is an ascent, a scream of freedom. I transmute past shadows into a future of light, where poetry finally becomes color.
