About this artwork
Using Japanese ink painting on sumi-e paper and organic materials, I have depicted the balance between stillness and life. The landscape invites the eye to wander, while the solitary fisherman in his boat creates a tranquil, almost meditative atmosphere. The delicate cherry tree with its vibrant blossoms brings hope and vitality to the image – a place of inner reflection and peace for every home.

A native of Bavaria, I attended school in Stuttgart. I trained in fashion and design in Düsseldorf from 1967 to 1969, graduating with a diploma. I designed various collections for fashion companies. From 2002 to 2005, I trained in Japanese ink painting in Berlin. I have held various group and solo exhibitions in Berlin, Baden-Baden, Stuttgart, and Italy. I have lived in Berlin for 40 years.
Even as a child I was interested in painting.
Ute Lempp uses acrylic paints and Japanese ink painting (sumi-e) and brings with her a background in fashion and design training from Düsseldorf. She masters both realistic and abstract styles and places particular emphasis on omission and free space in the image. Her works convey a delicate balance between lightness, inspiration from nature, and vibrant emotionality.
