About this artwork
This monochrome, wash drawing with black ink was created on the beach at Knudshoved on the Danish Baltic coast in September. With energetic, dynamic strokes, I expressively captured the landscape using a bamboo pen. The drawing conveys an immediate impression of the powerful atmosphere of that moment by the sea. The image is mounted under a light gray passe-partout measuring 40 x 50 cm and framed in a matte aluminum frame (40 x 50 cm) by Nielsen.…

Ute Meyer is a German artist whose work has been recognized nationally and internationally, including in Denmark and the USA. She prefers to work outdoors and uses classic techniques of oil and watercolor painting. Her creative process is strongly influenced by changing weather conditions and lighting, which can either speed up or slow down her painting flow. She captures the special mood of the day in her pictures.
In addition to plein air painting, Ute Meyer draws inspiration from her own photographs and everyday experiences, which she implements both abstractly and figuratively. Characteristic features of her works are clarity, liveliness, depth and breadth, which run like a common thread through her work.
