About this artwork
In “Arrival,” I explore a moment when the familiar world opens itself to something unseen. Standing before these ancient stones, I felt as if they were more than monuments — as if they were guardians still listening to distant realms. Their silent presence carries a weight of forgotten rituals, and I wanted to paint them as beings that remember more than we do.
The long, luminous cloud crossing the sky became the key to this work. It appeared to… me not as weather, but as a sign — a soft, celestial trace of something arriving from beyond. In the painting, this cloud acts as a bridge between the earthly and the otherworldly, touching the stones with a quiet energy that feels both ancient and new.
Through this meeting of sky, land, and stone, I reflect on the thin veil between the visible and the mysterious. “Arrival” is my way of capturing the moment when the earth recognizes a presence not entirely its own — a moment of connection, wonder, and silent acknowledgment.
