About this artwork
In this work, the image of Pier Paolo Pasolini is not a celebratory portrait, but a moral presence. The face, defined with almost implacable precision, emerges as a locus of thought and consciousness, while the space behind it dissolves into a symbolic and rarefied dimension.
Three naked figures, seen from behind, advance toward a horizon marked by a thin red line, both a boundary and a wound. Their anonymous, fragile bodies represent a humanity… moving away, unaware or irremediably separated from the intellectual's gaze.
The dialogue between watercolor and colored pencil creates a tension between matter and control, between body and idea. Pasolini does not belong to the space he observes: he is a critical witness. His gaze, directed at the viewer, asks not for consent but for responsibility.
