About this artwork
It is always a painful experience or thought that is the incipit for my canvases. Here I tried to represent the depth and complexity of human emotions using raw materials such as high-density modeling clay. The rough surface and dark tones represent the internal battles and resilience of the soul. [How deep can an abyss be?!?? How many layers can it have? And in which direction can one "read" it?]
Passionate about Art and Technology, Valeria graduated from the Art School experimenting with various declinations of pictorial and sculptural art, and later specialized in Information Technology. She came into contact with the world of cinema and interior design. She collaborated on various projects of a different narrative nature, and took an introspective path that found its natural fit in painting. She dedicated herself to the study and use of matter and materials, abandoning reasoning by sifting through states of mind and transposing them from the ineffable to the material. Attracted by the conflict between logic and instinct, she immersed herself in the search for her own expressive identity, to convey emotions, anxieties and fragility, drawing on personal experience and preferring working with bare hands. Between spontaneity and irrationality, her works are fragments of a continuous deconstruction and stratification. The red, always present, is a symbolic opposition to violence against women.
