About this artwork
I worked on the extreme stylization of the lines and the curve, evoking the bird or the wave (depending on each one!). The convexity - front side - or the concavity - back side - (or the opposite!) reminds us that we only see ONE side of things but the hidden side remains! My patina was a painter's surprise, letting the hot acids act by playing on the range of 3 colors.

Valia Lemcovici, whose father who was a painter gave her a taste for Art, at a very young age. After studying at the Beaux-Arts in Paris, she works with wood, clay, plaster, cement and bronze. This versatile artist creates moving works, often inspired by dance, marked by duality and complicity, moving away from realism for a poetic and dreamlike vision. For her, art is a spiritual and carnal quest, a song for the body, transformed into sculpture, embodying a poignant emotional transience.
