About this artwork
This work speaks to us of birth and in particular of new birth, a form of resilience. Birth is a beginning, that of a new life like that of a small being who comes to the light. On the spiritual level, a new life is made possible by the light of the creative and saving Word which renews the inner being and restores the soul. From a psychic and emotional point of view, it is a rebirth when hope dawns again in the soul of a being broken by trauma.… This moment when life takes over and the person gets back up is a new beginning. In the midst of the violence and the dark sides of our humanity, the love and solidarity shown by each other act like torches in the night. My work bears witness to these new days when we detach ourselves from a past that made us sink, to enter a time of resilience and regeneration where the light and colors of life are found.
Vanessa Baegne (née Lhermenault), heiress to a rich artistic heritage, mainly uses oil painting, acrylic and digital photography. Her figurative art, characterized by strongly framed compositions, highlights plays of light and contrasts to express spiritual and existential themes. Her work, crossed by the luminous thread of hope, invites us to reflect on our social and spiritual reality.
