Inspired by the quiet mystery of a moonlit forest, Luminous Moon continues my moon series with a luminous, dreamlike presence. Built in layered blues, yellows, greens, and metallic reds, the painting glows with an ethereal green—like a moon seen through the shimmer of leaves. It reflects the feeling of something ancient and gentle, a moon not of our sky, but of a hidden, inner landscape.

Vania Bouwmeester Pentcheva is an established Bulgarian artist based in the Netherlands who has exhibited her work nationally, as well as in South Africa. Moved and inspired by nature, including its presence in urban landscapes, she explores her emotions, memories and philosophical thoughts through the composition of abstract paintings full of dynamic shapes and colours. Textures and colours spontaneously arrive on the canvas, though structured layering is carefully thought out.
