About this artwork
208 fishes is a work awarded with the Artemisia Watercolor First Prize 2020 by the Madrid City Council. It measures 150 150 and mixes the figuration and abstraction of 208 fish distributed on a piece of seabed where light and blue tones are the protagonists. It is a minimalist work that is both abstract and figurative.
In addition, it is a work awarded with one of the most important national watercolor prizes since this work won the first watercolor… prize.
This watercolor work captures a fusion between the abstract and the figurative, with touches of impressionism and semi-abstraction. “I wanted to evoke the ephemeral beauty of nebulous moments, where colors and shapes only hint at reality. Through deep blues and grays, and flashes of warm colors, I seek to convey a feeling of mystery and contemplation." This piece would bring to any home an atmosphere of serenity and a stimulating sense of discovery and reflection.
