About this artwork
A quiet moment suspended between presence and disappearance. This piece captures a delicate transformation where form begins to dissolve into light, and the physical gently releases into something unseen. The figure embodies a sense of feminine stillness and grace, while the fragmented gold suggests both loss and becoming a transition that is neither an end nor a beginning, but a state in between.Soft, luminous, and introspective, Ethereal Passage… invites the viewer to reflect on the unseen layers of existence, where spirit, memory, and identity quietly shift beyond the visible.
I’m Victoria Shul, a contemporary artist based in London, originally from Ukraine. I work with acrylics, oils, gold leaf, textured paste, epoxy resin, and mixed media. My process is intuitive and emotional. I follow what I feel in the moment, expressing it through texture, layers, and symbolism. After the war in Ukraine began and I moved to London, painting became a way to process, to heal, and to stay grounded. It brought more honesty and emotional depth into my work. I explore themes like inner transformation, feminine energy, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. I want my art to be felt, not just seen. I’m self-taught, inspired by dreams, emotion, nature, and the silent language of color. My style moves between abstraction, symbolism, and something spiritual. At the heart of it, I create a connection to offer something real, honest, and deeply human.
