About this artwork
This painting was inspired by the crystal lagoons of the Maldives. The soft blues and turquoise tones reflect the transparency of the water. Vertical flows suggest gentle waves moving toward the shore. The textured cracks and gold lines echo sunlight dancing on the surface. In the Maldives, the ocean is not only powerful, it is also soft, luminous, and endless. This piece is about lightness. About clarity. About freedom.
I’m Victoria Shul, a contemporary artist based in London, originally from Ukraine. I work with acrylics, oils, gold leaf, textured paste, epoxy resin, and mixed media. My process is intuitive and emotional. I follow what I feel in the moment, expressing it through texture, layers, and symbolism. After the war in Ukraine began and I moved to London, painting became a way to process, to heal, and to stay grounded. It brought more honesty and emotional depth into my work. I explore themes like inner transformation, feminine energy, and the quiet beauty of everyday life. I want my art to be felt, not just seen. I’m self-taught, inspired by dreams, emotion, nature, and the silent language of color. My style moves between abstraction, symbolism, and something spiritual. At the heart of it, I create a connection to offer something real, honest, and deeply human.
