About this artwork
In the work "At noon among the foliage" from the series "Fragments of Light", the nature of light as a living, elusive and multi-layered phenomenon is explored. Here, light is not just a background or a source — it becomes the fabric of space itself, dissolving the boundaries between forms, creating the illusion of breathing, movement, and awakening. Diffused light passing through foliage, reflecting off the moist surfaces of nature or an indoor… garden. The canvas does not have clearly defined objects, but creates a sense of organic presence.
Textures, breaks, inclusions of colour — all these are like fragments of light stuck in matter. Here you can "see" a flower, pollen, and the play of light on the grass, but only if you let your eye wander and not look for specifics.
"Light, refracted through the inner garden, breathes in greenery, dissolves in yellow and carries the promise of life."
Vita Daneva, an artist from Moldova, works diversely across painting, textiles, digital, and conceptual visual arts. She creates art using form, colours, and unexpected materials, transforming fragments of impressions into harmonized realities. Her intimate works echo her deep philosophical observations, perfused with messages about time, ecology, and human interconnectedness.
