In Geisha, the female figure emerges with an almost sacred composure. The face is reduced to the essentials: closed eyes, fine lines, no superfluous details. It is a silent, suspended presence, more interior than narrative. It doesn't tell a story, it holds it.
The background is divided into two distinct and vibrant chromatic fields: on one side, a fresh and contemplative turquoise; on the other, warm, almost solar yellow and orange. This separation… creates a balanced tension between calm and energy, introspection and vitality. The figure stands exactly in the middle, like a point of harmony between opposites.
The kimono is constructed using intense, contrasting colors: pink, orange, green, and purple. There's no pursuit of realism, but rather visual impact. The bold black lines define the contours and give the motif a bold, almost illustrative feel. It's a geisha reinterpreted with a contemporary eye, far from traditional aesthetics and closer to a pop synthesis.

My name is Vincenzo Raimondo, I live and work in Palermo, a city of contradictions that profoundly influence my vision. For me, art isn't decoration, but presence, accessible and sincere, capable of connecting with the viewer.
