About this artwork
It is a series on the Amerindians, a way to honor them for their fight at Standing Rock as well as at Wounded knee. They stole their land, their culture, their heritage, their water. It is time to pay homage to them, to pay homage to a first people with whom the artist spent very privileged moments in the desert of Nevada, Colorado, Utah and New Mexico. It is a subject that is particularly close to his heart. She also participates in another project… to help the natives of Australia with the association "a barrel in the sea".
« I love primary colours because they are fresh and don’t hide behind shadows. I love their energy. »
Virginia Valère is a French painter, sculptor and photographer based in Miami, who has exhibited her work internationally. Harnessing diverse cultural and artistic influences, including the pop art movement, she composes works that explode with color, shape and life. Her creative process is impulsive and fast-paced, and her resulting pieces reflect this nature: spontaneous, expressive and kaleidoscopic in both form and content.
