This work is part of the "ESSENCES" series.
Essenze, from 2018, is the series that smells of truth, moving once again towards the heart of things, genuinely and beautifully. A series based on the harmony of color and shapes, a return to order in the artist's poetics, which lands on canvas with ever greater simplification and purity. The process of abstraction and clarification… reaches the extreme and the artist's style is realized in a combination of forms, condensed in an elementary language composed of colored areas.
« I'm lured by the essence of things, by an incessant tension towards the Truth, the Absolute, the Spiritual in art. »
Vito Difilippo (b. 1988, Monopoli, Italy) has exhibited in various cities across Italy, France, the United Kingdom, and China. His research began in Puglia, between the Murgia plateau and the sea, original territories that continue to nourish a constantly evolving visual language, encompassing self-taught painting, abstract expressionism, conceptual art, Arte Povera, sculpture, and photography. His work treads a subtle line between the natural and the artificial, the archaic and the contemporary, inviting us to rediscover a possible harmony between fragility and strength. What emerges is an abstract, intimate, and visceral narrative, in which matter and gesture converge to shape new expressive possibilities.
