Vladimir Georgievski (1942–2017), born in Skopje, was a painter, sculptor, stage designer, and professor whose career spanned decades of artistic and academic achievement. Educated in Skopje and Belgrade, he later taught at the University of Sts. Cyril and Methodius, the Film and Theatre Academy, and Europa Prima University. His work extended to theatre and film through stage and costume design, and he received Macedonia’s highest cultural award for lifetime achievement. Internationally recognized, he created a bas‑relief of Dostoyevsky for the museum in Saint Petersburg. Using oils, aquarelles, acrylics, pastels, and inks, his expressive lines and layered compositions explored human nature, faith, and mortality. His art radiates existential intensity, blending figurative and symbolic styles to transform man and nature into emblems of philosophical inquiry. His works remain in public and private collections worldwide, a testament to his enduring legacy: vladimir-georgievski.com.
