About this artwork
This pattern was written for the exhibition on the theme of "METROPOLIS" which will be held in Germany in November 2019 . Also, a series of paintings was presented in new York in the gallery Artifact on Manhattan.
In the midst of these urban spaces, as if zoomed in, female figures and portraits appear. Silently observing, dancing, making music or strolling around, they connect with the urban environment - on the surface and in the sensual depth below.

Vladislava Yakovenko is an emerging Slovakian artist whose work focuses on portraits and urban landscapes. Her work seeks to balance flatness and distorted perspective with depth and space. She has contextualized her work within the traditional of suprematism and orphism, two traditions which asserted the absolute self-sufficiency of compositions, texture, and color. Yakovenko paintings expertly balance texture and softness, color, and light and dark.
