I called this abstract metal sculpture “Hesitation” because I spent a long time doubting how to complete it. I kept postponing the final touch until the surface began to rust. Then one day, I noticed a half-brick and placed the seemingly “soft,” rust-colored form against it. From that moment, the piece felt complete to me.
This work reflects how doubt can stretch the time needed to make a decision, regardless of the situation. In the end, the simplest… solution turned out to be the most satisfying.
The sculpture can be placed both outdoors and indoors. This “form” appears brutal and intriguing, with a sense of raw expressive power and, at the same time, simplicity. For some reason, it also reminded me of the Ukrainian band BoomBox and their song “TNT.”
The surface is not coated with varnish. This is intentional. You may get a bit of rust on your fingers when touching it, but applying varnish would reduce the natural quality of the color.
