Watercolour painting “Resistance” captures a moment of inner struggle, where the figure moves through an unseen force that both restrains and propels. The blurred, shifting form suggests motion that is not fully resolved, as if the body is caught between yielding and pushing forward. One arm extends outward while the other shields the face, creating a tension between exposure and self-protection. The soft edges… and dissolving contours evoke instability, as though the figure is pressing against something intangible yet persistent. Through its fluidity and restraint, the painting reflects the quiet intensity of resistance — a deeply personal effort to move through what cannot be seen.

I’m a self-taught watercolour artist from Vilnius, Lithuania. Before turning to painting, I spent more than 30 years designing bespoke furniture inspired by Art Nouveau, whose organic lines and nature-driven forms continue to shape my artistic vision. Today, I focus solely on watercolour, occasionally crafting wooden frames for my own works to extend the dialogue between painting and material.
I began painting in 2016, when watercolour unexpectedly became my main language of expression. Its sensitivity and unpredictability allow me to explore light, emotion, and quiet introspection. My work has received international recognition in realism competitions such as the ARC Salon, Almenara Art Prize, ModPortrait, and has been exhibited at the MEAM Museum in Barcelona and galleries across Europe, the UK, the USA, and Australia. Through my art, I seek to create moments of calm, reflection, and connection.
