About this artwork
This is an acrylic painting of Ibiza Town on the Spanish island of Ibiza. The scene is early in the morning when the town is covered by a blue haze and the water is calm.
Wendy Williams is a painter originally from England who has been living and working on the island of Ibiza for the last 54 years. Inspired by Ibiza’s vibrant light, she began working in oils and acrylics after early art studies and private mentorships. She masterfully shifts between impressionist island scenes—often created with palette knife technique—and expressive, fluid acrylic abstracts. Her style alternates between luminous landscapes and captivating movement and colour in abstract forms. Williams’ art radiates nostalgia, joy, and wonder, inviting viewers to cherish fleeting beauty and an emotional connection to place. Since 1972 she has had nearly 40 single exhibitions, mainly in Ibiza but, more recently has shown her work in Amsterdam and Strasbourg. She has also participated in many collective exhibitions.
