About this artwork
The artwork depicts a sunset on a side street off Broadway, leading to the bus station located near the offices of The Times newspaper. The former site of these offices gave its name to the nearby Times Square district.
Werner Bröcker primarily works in oil painting, his background marked by training as an electrical engineer and extensive artistic experience in Paris. Inspired by Impressionism, he masters techniques reminiscent of Monet and Renoir, capturing light on landscapes, cityscapes, and nudes. His rigorous work delicately conveys the fleeting beauty of the moment and the wonder of light's interplay with reality.
