“Under the Wave” plunges the viewer into the heart of a powerful natural force. It is a tribute to the strength of the ocean and to the metaphorical meaning of waves. The inspiration for this work comes from personal experiences with surfing.
The shade of broken white captures the color of foaming seawater.
The pronounced texture, composed of fine, jagged, broken lines, reflects the energy of the moment when the wave breaks, drawing the viewer into… a whirl of emotions. An important element of the composition is the sinusoidal line that divides the canvas in half. It refers to balance in nature and to the act of navigating between highs and lows.
The structure of the painting becomes a kind of emotional landscape.

Weronika Bowżyk is an abstract artist specializing in textured painting. After completing her studies at Warsaw School of Economics in Warsaw and Nova School of Business in Lisbon, she decided to return to art and established @murandi.art project.
Her work is inspired by landscapes, emotions, and travel, with surfing being a main theme in her paintings.
