About this artwork
Estranged is an acrylic painting on raw linen 3D canvas. This is the fifth painting in the "From Darkness to Light" series. Like Suvienage, it was inspired by the work of Change Che.
It is a painting dedicated to the darkness of alienation - the overwhelming feeling of loneliness and mourning after the loss of a close relationship. It consists of a gradual erosion of a once intimate and cherished bond and a systematic distancing from each other.… It takes dedication and courage to rekindle a relationship and forge a new relationship. Unfortunately, many relationships wither and die, never to be rekindled.
We can see the erosion in the painting - one sreeam comming from the left bottom devides into two going in different directions. The use of black paint and raw linen as the base of this painting are just underscoring the emotions that accompany the process.
Weronika Dyląg, a painter and photographer with roots in plein air and classical art, plunges into the world of acrylics. Her technique, air-spread fluid paint without preliminary sketches, encapsulates spontaneity and a raw, emotive aesthetic. Her art exudes a vibrant celebration of positive emotion, a testament to the healing power of joyful color.
