The demand for 'narrow' paintings with one or at most two figures, resulted in a number of Madonna-like images in 2003. Mostly buyers compare two Marian-paintings.
Since then, the Mariannes have evolved on a compositional level and in the use of colour with paintings from the Mystery series.
Paintings in the Series Mystery encompass motives that look mysterious and esoteric.
The figures on the paintings seem not be complete and are vaguely… in warm colors put onto the canvas. Wil Lof applies especially for Mysterys her pasty and fading style of painting in multiple coats giving kind of depth, three-dimensional dimension to the motive.

Style of her Artworks Wilhelmina Lof’s emphasizes on decorative, abstract-styled paintings with dynamic, powerful colours, realized in mixed techniques. The result is a dynamic painting of which the colour balance changes under the available light, warm in the morning light; bright under full sun shine, warm and tender at sunset. Artificial light of variable strength can be used for highlighting.

Apart from her series of pure abstract and figurative paintings, emphasis is now in combining both styles into mysterious scenes.
