Wil Lof faced, for a potential exhibition in a theatre in the Netherlands, the task of presenting her paintings on the long walls of the foyer. In preparation for this exhibition, she created her first monumental paintings with a width of one and a half meters and a height of one meter.
Quite appropriate, these paintings on linen, were given the serial name Teatro, which says it all - theatre, music, dance, etcetera – showing happy, warm colored female figures dancing, moving and swirling their dresses.

Style of her Artworks Wilhelmina Lof’s emphasizes on decorative, abstract-styled paintings with dynamic, powerful colours, realized in mixed techniques. The result is a dynamic painting of which the colour balance changes under the available light, warm in the morning light; bright under full sun shine, warm and tender at sunset. Artificial light of variable strength can be used for highlighting.
The 'colour coded' compositions of my works carry the spectator away into speculative or interpretative imaginations of the painting. Many observers characterize her paintings as being esoteric, anthroposophical or even ‘elysian’. Apart from her series of pure abstract and figurative paintings, emphasis is now in combining both styles into mysterious scenes.
