About this artwork
A series of fictional landscapes. Painted in watercolor on paper. Multiple layers of paint are applied one upon the other, and with the help of a ruler and palette knife, colored areas and lines are generated to create the landscape.

Wolfgang Hey uses watercolor, acrylic, aquacrylic, pencil, ink, and pastel on various media and has training in representational drawing as well as modern painting in the spirit of Cubism and the Expressionism of the "Blue Rider." His technique combines elements from music, particularly Baroque and jazz, while his stylistic diversity ranges from landscapes, urban architecture, and still lifes to free-form abstractions.
