About this artwork
In this work, I explore the interplay of the cosmos and earthly nature with a focus on the impermanence of our existence. I used acrylics to capture the intensity of waves crashing against the rugged rock, while above, the celestial and mysterious cosmic swirls and the moon add a surreal and metaphysical element. This piece invites the viewer to reflect on the transience and eternal beauty of the universe, offering a thoughtful and deeply inspiring… energy for any space.
Xabier Obeso, a self-taught painter and printmaker, has a prestigious career spanning half a century, exhibiting in international galleries and fairs. His transcendental and realistic style is based on a symbolic language to express the ineffable, inviting reflection and introspection. His work arises from the need to explore the invisible, the transcendental, through evocative textures and meditative compositions. He seeks to represent resistance in a world of immediacy, conveying silence, doubt, and depth, and inviting the viewer into a space of internal resonance.
