In this work, I combined engraving and pigments to capture the intensity of a gaze imbued with mystery and nostalgia. I wanted to convey the complexity of emotions linked to aging, memory, and the injustice of time. This piece will bring a deep and intriguing energy, inviting reflection and the confrontation of the truths hidden in every home.
Yann Hervis, born on February 15, 1956, in Juvisy-sur-Orge, is a contemporary French artist whose aesthetic explorations, techniques, and artistic vocabulary are multifaceted. By turns marquetry artist, draftsman, engraver, sculptor, designer, and visual artist, he works with a constantly renewed creativity, using a wide range of materials as diverse as wood, glass, bronze, Corten steel, stainless steel, stone, and paper. He freely and personally explores their countless possibilities, balancing form and color, poetry and modernity, keen observation and precise execution. He has also undertaken large-scale artistic projects in the public sphere. See Anne-Marie Royer-Pantin's monograph on Yann Hervis, "Le geste et la matière" (Gesture and Matter).
