About this artwork
"Labyrinth" is a powerful intersection of geometric structure and vibrant energy. This significant work was a featured piece in Yaryna Shumska’s solo exhibition at the Andrey Sheptytsky National Museum in Lviv, marking it as a painting of high cultural and artistic value.
Through a dynamic combination of radiant yellow, steady grey, and deep dark green, Shumska leads the viewer into a sophisticated "labyrinth of forms." The painting explores the… balance between order and intuition; while the geometric elements provide a sense of architectural strength, the energetic color palette keeps the composition fluid and alive.
This artwork is more than a visual journey—it is an intellectual puzzle that invites the observer to find their own path through its layers. Its museum provenance and bold, rhythmic presence make it an exceptional investment and a commanding centerpiece for any contemporary collection.

« I work with painting, performance art, installation, and dance. I'm interested in the research of spaces with human presence and looking for situations that reveal dual reality and ambiguity. »
Yaryna Shumska is a multidisciplinary artist whose work bridges the gap between performance and abstract painting, creating what she calls an "archive of action."
She is a prize-winning Ukrainian artist whose works have been widely exhibited on a national level, as well as in Poland, France, Spain and the United States. Her artistic geography is truly global, ranging from the Venice International Performance Art Week and Tokyo to Bangkok, Barcelona, and the Arctic Action in Svalbard. A significant place in her practice is occupied by abstract painting from the 2008–2020 period, which served as a foundation for exploring the canvas as a space for "inhabiting" action. In these works, color and texture function not merely as visual elements, but as mediums for internal rhythm and energy. These canvases laid the groundwork for her current practice, where painting is transformed into a direct imprint of physical presence.
