About this artwork
KINOKABAN®︎ is a hand-carved wooden handbag with one-of-a-kind design by Yuuki Kamei. The main part of the bag is made of old-growth Japanese Linden tree (Tilia japonica), which has stood in Hokkaido, Japan for over 150 years.
The bright orange color of the wooden bag with increased saturation is fresh and full of vitality. I carved colorful freehand patterns on the top and bottom of the wooden bag. The bag is a delightful piece of work, just like… a bright little girl in a hat.
